It is a little known fact that the earliest use of temperature measurement for healing purposes, was used for war horses in ancient Greece. When a horse went lame, mud was applied to the suspect area. The patch of mud that dried the quickest was the area of the most heat or inflammation. That was instrumental in determining where the pain was, seeing as the horse could not tell them.

Oregon Infrared uses thermal imagery to assess the condition of large animals. Whether in a zoo, horse stables, or horse track environment, we can help provide a diagnostic tool to use for assessment. With the assistance of a veterinarian and a specific set of images, a comprehensive survey of the condition of an animal can be achieved. A report is generated, and issues are identified by a licensed veterinarian. Infrared thermography is an incredibly valuable tool to assist in the diagnosis of animal injury.
